Salam. Samahani. Could you kindly please write this sentense in English?

I really wants to correct it, but I have no idea with that one. What is "Ijara, ilihozi, walikuma?" Please!!--Mwanaharakati (majadiliano) 16:21, 20 Agosti 2008 (UTC)Reply

ROTFL, I knew sooner or later my very bad swahili would cause problems. I'll translate that into english first, then explain "my" swahili... What I meant is: "Musicians were hired workers; the band owned the musical instruments". Ijara should have meant "salary" (pay), according to these guys. Yup. I-li-hozi should have meant it-did-own (if hozi means to own, as those same guys suggest). Finally, walikuma is a mistype for wa-li-kuwa, which to me would mean they-did-be ("they were"). I guess something went wrong with my interpretation of verbs here. Again thanks a lot for your help. Moongateclimber (majadiliano) 22:32, 20 Agosti 2008 (UTC)Reply
BTW, I have been studying kiswahili in my spare time for just about one month or so. I really love it, but I still find it quite kigumu and I do honestly admit to myself that I'm at very beginning of a shule ya msingi. So believe me if I tell you that I would never dare write in sw.wiki anything else than very short sentences "copied" elsewhere (as I did with Yes) if you didn't ask me about muziki. I guess being thrown in the water is the best way to learn to swim, but this of course doesn't mean that I want to treat wiki as my own private sehemu ya mazoezi. That's why I'm appreciating your help so much; please keep doing whatever correction you thinks my text needs, and just tell me if you ever get to think that it's just too plain bad :-) I wouldn't be upset :-) Also, I will let you know when the article is complete, so that you can tell me whether it can or can't be actually put up in the 'pedia. Thank you! Moongateclimber (majadiliano) 22:44, 20 Agosti 2008 (UTC)Reply
Mambo vipi. Basi ngoja nijaribu na mimi!
  • Musicians were hired workers; the band owned the musical instruments
Kiswahili

Basic words

You may use "Mshahara" instead of using ijara. You may use "Kumiliki" instead of using ilihozi. Furthermore: Instrument it's "Ala", but when we say Music Instruments", we meant: Vyombo vya Muziki! You don't need to feel bad for what u've written, cause that is only the beginning!! I'm with you for every step you move. And I will give you more-more words and correct them for our friendship sake! Mbona hata mimi sijui Kiingereza vizuri? I'm pretty sure if I miss use so many words, but I try my bset!! Au vipi rafiki. Poa basi,--Mwanaharakati (majadiliano) 07:23, 21 Agosti 2008 (UTC)Reply

Kiingereza chako kizuri!
Basi safari bado ndefu, twende kazi....--Mwanaharakati (majadiliano) 13:06, 21 Agosti 2008 (UTC)Reply
