Godliver Businge
Godliver Businge (alizaliwa mwaka 1987) ni mhandisi wa ujenzi wa Uganda na mkufunzi mkuu wa teknolojia wa Global Women's Water Initiative.
Alipokuwa mkubwa, Businge alikumbuka mara nyingi alibeba ndoo ya lita 20 kichwani. Kufuatia kuhitimu shule ya upili na kifo cha dada na babake, Businge alijiunga na Chuo Kikuu cha African Rural University . [1] Alipotambua alitaka kuwa mhandisi, alihamia Taasisi ya Ufundi ya Maendeleo ya Vijijini ya Uganda. Alichagua ujenzi kama lengo kuu kwake, akijifunza uwekaji matofali na zege, uhandisi wa mitambo, useremala na utengenezaji. Alipata ufadhili wa masomo kutoka URDT, alifanya kazi kwa muda kwenye karakana ya chuma, na alishinda shindano la kubuni nyumba mnamo 2009 kutoka Uganda Vision 2035. [1] Alihitimu programu hiyo kisha akahudhuria Taasisi ya Kiufundi ya St Joseph huko Kisubi, Uganda. Mwaka 2011 alianzisha vituo viwili vya kuzalisha umeme vya pico huko Kagadi . [2] Alipata digrii ya uhandisi wa ujenzi mnamo 2012. Kufuatia kuhitimu kwake alikataa kazi kutoka kwa Waziri wa Elimu wa Uganda, akitaja nia yake ya kuendeleza elimu yake. [1]
Businge anafanya kazi kama mkufunzi mkuu wa teknolojia wa Global Women's Water Initiative (GWWI), akifundisha wanawake na vijana nchini Kenya, Tanzania, na Uganda jinsi ya kujenga na kutunza vyanzo vya maji. [3] Anafundisha ujenzi wa vichujio vya mchanga wa bio kwenye matanki ya maji. Kupitia shirika hilo, Businge amewafundisha wanawake ujenzi ambao baadaye walipewa kandarasi ya kujenga vyoo vya shimo vilivyoboreshwa vya uingizaji hewa . [4]
Businge ana mtoto wa kike anae endesha kipindi cha redio cha Ladies Night, na kuongeza ufahamu wa umuhimu wa kuelimisha wanawake vijana. [5]
