Mkama Ndume

makazi ya Waswahili wa zama za kati

Magofu ya Mkama Ndume yalikuwa makazi ya Waswahili ya enzi za kati ambayo yaliachwa na wakazi wao katika Karne ya 16 kabla ya kuwasili kwa Wareno Afrika Mashariki na inajulikana kwa uimarishaji wake kwa kutumia mawe. [1]

Magofu hayo yako km 10 (mi 6.2) mashariki mwa mji wa Chake Chake katika Mkoa wa Pemba Kusini, Tanzania. [2]

Mji huo ulitawaliwa na kiongozi mmoja aitwaye Bwana Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman, ambaye alijulikana kwa ukatili wake sana kwa raia wake na hivyo akapewa jina la utani la Mkama Ndume lenye maana ya mkamua wanaume kwa Kiswahili cha zamani. Hayo magofu ya makazi yakapewa jina hilo la utani la Mkama Ndume. [3] [4]
