Photographic Convention of the United Kingdom
Photographic Convention of the United Kingdom (PCUK) ilianzishwa mwaka 1886 na mkataba wake wa kwanza ulifanyika katika mji wa Derby, England mwezi Agosti mwaka huo.
Wajumbe waanzilishi walikuwa mchanganyiko wa wapiga picha hodari na matajiri. Wapiga picha mashuhuri waliokuwepo katika mkutano wa kwanza ni pamoja na William England, principal mpiga picha na London Stereoscopic Company; Richard Keene, ambaye baadaye akawa mwanachama wa The Brotherhood of the Linked Ring na Alfred Seaman ambao alianzisha idadi kubwa ya studio huko Midlands na Kusini mwa Uingereza.Pictorialist aliyeongoza alikuwa Henry Peach Robinson na alichaguliwa Rais mwaka 1896. Willaim Crooke mpiga picha maarufu wa uScottish alichaguliwa rais mwaka 1899. Wengi wa wajumbe walikuwa pia wanachama wa Royal Photographic Society lakini walitaka kuanzisha shirika lililo kuwa lina weza kuwa saidia katika kazi yao.' [1]
Mahudhurio katika mkutano wa kwanza yalikuwa 48 lakini yaliongezeka haraka zaidi miaka iliyofuatia mpaka ikafikia 328 kwa mkutano wa mwaka 1898 [2] Utaratibu wa kikundi ulikuwa kuchagua mji ambapo wangekuwa 'hosted' na kikundi cha mtaani. Hoteli kubwa ilichaguliwa kama makao makuu ya mkataba na siku tatu hadi nne zilikuwa zime tengwa za mpango wa hotuba, outings, maonyesho na dinners.
