Ida Betty Odinga (jina la kuzaliwa Ida Anyango Oyoo 24 Agosti 1950 [1]) ni mfanyabiashara , mwanaharakati na mwalimu wa Kenya. Yeye ni mke wa Raila Odinga, Waziri Mkuu wa zamani wa Kenya na kiongozi wa National Super Alliance (NASA). [2] Mnamo 2010, gazeti la The Standard lilimtaja Odinga, ambaye alikuwa mmoja wa wanawake wa kwanza kuongoza kampuni kubwa ya Kenya, kama mmoja wa wanawake wenye nguvu zaidi nchini Kenya mwaka wa 2010.

Odinga alipata Shahada ya Kwanza ya Sanaa kutoka Chuo Kikuu cha Nairobi mnamo 1974 alipokuwa na umri wa miaka 24. [3] [4] Alipokuwa akihudhuria Chuo Kikuu cha Nairobi, alikutana na mume wake mtarajiwa, Raila Odinga, ambaye alikuwa mfanyakazi wa Idara ya Uhandisi ya chuo hicho wakati huo. [5] Wenzi hao walifunga ndoa tarehe 1 Septemba 1973 na wana watoto wanne. Mmoja wa watoto wao, Fidel Odinga, alifariki mwaka wa 2015. [6] [7]

Alifanya kazi kama mwalimu kwa zaidi ya miaka ishirini baada ya kuhitimu. Alifundisha katika Shule ya Upili ya Kenya, shule ya umma ya wasichana wote iliyoko karibu na Nairobi . Wanafunzi wake ni pamoja na marehemu Gavana wa Kaunti ya Bomet, Joyce Laboso.

Raila Odinga alifungwa 1982 kama mfungwa wa kisiasa na serikali ya Rais Daniel arap Moi . Gazeti la The Standard lilimuorodhesha Odinga kama mmoja wa wanawake wenye nguvu zaidi nchini Kenya mwaka wa 2010. [18]

Katika mahojiano na CNN International 2012, Odinga alifafanua maisha yake na kusema yeye ni mke wa mwanasiasa. Alimwambia Felicia Taylor wa CNN, "Ni vizuri kuwa mke, lakini ni vizuri kuwa mke aliyeelimika. Kuwa mke, sio tu nafasi ya kuwa chini/Mnyonge - ni nafasi ya nguvu." [19]

Mnamo Novemba 2018, Odinga aliidhinisha Mswada , ambao ungerekebisha Katiba ya Kenya ili kuhakikisha uteuzi wa wagombeaji na wabunge wa kike katika Bunge.[20] Ingawa aliunga mkono hadharani mswada huo, ambao alisema utaongeza nyadhifa za uongozi kwa wabunge wanawake, Odinga pia alibainisha kuwa wanawake hawajawahi kupata fursa ya kushindana kwa usawa na wanasiasa wanaume katika siasa.
