Kapernaumu
Kapernaumu (pia Kafarnaumu, kwa Kiebrania [1]כְּפַר נַחוּם, Kfar Nahum, yaani "Kijiji cha Nahum") ilikuwa kijiji cha uvuvi upande wa kaskazini wa Ziwa Galilaya kilichoanzishwa wakati wa ufalme wa ukoo wa Wahasmonei (karne ya 2 KK).[2]
Kilikuwa na wakazi 1,500 hivi[3] na masinagogi mawili. Nyumba iliyogeuzwa kuwa kanisa inasemekana ilikuwa ya Mtume Petro.
Kijiji kiliachwa mahame katika karne ya 11 BK.[4] This includes the re-establishment of the village during the Early Islamic period soon after the 749 earthquake.[4]

haririKapernaumu inatajwa na Injili zote nne (Math 4:13, 8:5, 11:23, 17:24, Mk 1:21, 2:1, 9:33, Lk 4:23, 31,7:1, 10:15, Yoh 2:12, 4:46, 6:17, 24,59). Inaonekana ilikuwa makao makuu (Math 4:12–17) ya kundi la Yesu lililozungukazunguka hasa katika mkoa wa Galilaya.
Huko Yesu alitoa mafundisho mengi na kufanya miujiza mingi; lakini kwa kutotubu ilipokea hukumu yake (Math 11:23).
