Injili ya Mathayo

Injili ya Mathayo ni kitabu cha kwanza katika orodha ya vitabu vya Agano Jipya katika Biblia ya Kikristo.

Ukurasa wa kwanza wa Injili ya Mathayo ulichorwa mnamo mwaka 1240 Ulaya ukionyesha mamajusi watatu mbele ya mtoto Yesu.

Mchoro huu kutoka Ufaransa (mnamo mwaka 800) wamuonyesha Mwinjili Mathayo akipokea maneno ya Injili yake kutoka kwa malaika.

Huhesabiwa kati ya Injili Ndugu pamoja na Marko na Luka, kwa sababu inafanana nazo kwa kiasi kikubwa; hasa inatumia asilimia 80 ya maandiko ya mwinjili Marko.

Kama vitabu vingine vyote vya Biblia, hiki pia kinatakiwa kisomwe katika mfululizo wa historia ya wokovu ili kukielewa kadiri ya maendeleo ya ufunuo wa Mungu kwa binadamu.

Mwandishi

Katika matoleo ya Biblia kichwa cha kitabu ni "Injili kama ilivyoandikwa na Mathayo" lakini kichwa hiki si sehemu ya toleo asili la Kigiriki.

Ingawa Injili yenyewe haimtaji mwandishi wake, kuanzia Papias (mnamo mwaka 130) Mtume Mathayo ametajwa kama mwandishi wa misemo ya Yesu Kristo kwa lugha ya Kiebrania.

Muda wa uandishi
