Mchoro mdogo wa karne ya 13 katika kitabu Passio Sancti Georgii (Verona, Italia).

George (kwa Kigiriki: Γεώργιος, Geṓrgios; kwa Kilatini: Georgius; 256/285 - 23 Aprili 303) alikuwa askari wa Dola la Roma mwenye asili ya Kigiriki[1][2] kutoka Lydda (leo nchini Israeli).

Alifanya kazi kama afisa katika kikosi cha kumlinda kaisari Diocletian, lakini alipokataa kuasi imani yake ya Kikristo, aliuawa huko Nikomedia, mkoa wa Bitinia (leo nchini Uturuki)[3].

Tangu kale anaheshimiwa sana na Wakristo wa madhehebu mengi kama mtakatifu. Hata katika vitabu vya Uislamu anatajwa kama nabii جرجس, Jiriyas (au Girgus)[4].

Sikukuu yake huadhimishwa tarehe 23 Aprili, siku ya kifodini chake.
